About me...

At a young age, I remember watching a documentary on sharks and seeing a "Marine Biologist - Shark Scientist" on the screen. Upon learning that there was a job with sharks involved, at that moment I knew what my career was going to be...

My deep curiosity about sharks and addiction to nature documentaries opened up the incredible world underneath the surface of the oceans and channelled me into SCUBA diving, freediving, sailing, and an all-around thalassophile.

Whilst my primary passion has been sharks, I have gained extensive research experience across a variety of disciplines, including underwater surveys (BRUVs, transects, stereo-video), acoustic telemetry, fishery and market surveys, multi-tissue sampling (DNA and isotopes) and environmental parameter sampling (deploying and retrieving sensors and rigs).

My research has transitioned from a specific-species approach to a broader ecosystem-based approach investigating the interconnected relationships within food webs and ecosystem
